Admissions
Join us!
At Chrysalis School we appreciate that each child is unique in their own way, so we try to accommodate multiple disabilities as far as possible when we feel we can assist in unlocking potential and contribute towards their development.
Disabilities that are currently accommodated are:
- Global developmental delays
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Cerebral Palsy (CP)
- Genetic Syndromes (for example Down Syndrome and Rett Syndrome and also any other unknown syndromes)
We encourage parents to visit the school to come and have a look at what we do and how we do it and to get an honest feel of who we are. For that reason, appointments are not a requirement.
We do not do formal assessments as a prerequisite for admission, but rather assess the child informally during the first two or three weeks of attending Chrysalis and then discuss a final placement as a multidisciplinary team with the parents.
As a private school, Chrysalis is not entitled to any government subsidies, and thus school fees paid by parents are the main source of income to cover all operating costs of the school. Securing other sources of revenue is a challenge and not always a reliable source of income. However, while acknowledging these facts, we also understand that parents of children with special needs are overly burdened by medical and other costs, and we continue to stay committed to maintaining our school fees at the lowest rate possible within which we can still provide excellent schooling and therapeutic opportunities.
